Life always finds a way!

Life's a strange game,
Sometimes it's such a pain.

You seldom know what you want,
But you always know what you don't want.

Being true to yourself isn't easy,
Being at peace isn't easy.

Sometimes you feel you have everything you need and
Sometimes you feel that there's a gaping void.

You yearn for something,
You get it,
You yearn for something else,
And the process goes on until you're on your deathbed.

Yet, it's funny how time heals everything.
The sun rises again,
Life from seeds sprout again,
The flowers bloom again,
You fall in love once again,
You find life worth living again.

Life always finds a way.
It's on you to find the life you want.

DO I ?

Do I want to be rich and famous  or
Do I want to lead a calm and peaceful life in anonymity?

Do I want to live a long and healthy life by shying away from all the temptations or
Do I want to live in the moment and enjoy everything I can?

Do I want to lead my life like I have a plan or
Do I take one day at a time?

Do I want to fulfill all my whims and fancies of the moment or
Do I save for future?

Do I want to be an artist, to express myself or
Do I want to be a scientist to understand what the nature is trying to express?

Do I get intimidated by the vastness of the world or
Do I realize that I can make a difference?

Do I want to lead a long and boring life or
Do I want a short and eventful life?

Do I want to make my presence felt or
Do I want to make my absence noticed?

Do I want to fall in love at every chance I get or
Do I wait until the time comes?

Do I stick to my family throughout my life or
Do I enjoy the beauty of solitude?

No matter what it takes, all I want to be is happy.

I DO.

When it Hurts!

All of us have a thing in common and that is we've all been hurt.Be it for a silly reason or a serious betrayal. A friend, family member,a random stranger or even God can be the reason behind it. Sometimes it can even be you and that would be in the form of  'Guilt'.
It can't be helped in most of the cases.Even things like not being invited to a party or a friend forgetting your birthday can hurt a lot at times, though eventually you may find it a silly reason to be brooding over or in some cases, things might just worsen with time. Now the thing is that you can't control or predict the behavior of the people around you,so why let them control yours by ruining your day? You can't stop people from doing or saying something that might hurt you, but you can try not to feel bad about it.The first thing to do is to keep your priorities straight.Just give it a thought,is that person really that important to you,to be able to control your feelings? Is he that powerful that he can ruin your day? make you feel low? If the answer is no, then there's nothing to feel bad about. Don't let some x y z hurt you!

If the person means a lot to you then weigh the situation and decide if it was intentional or not. Most of the times its unintentional from the people who care about you, so the best thing to do is to forgive and forget! If it seems to be intentional, then its a clear indication that you don't mean as much to the person as he does to u,and the best thing to do is just let it go! As you cannot control the way people feel about you, the best thing to do is move on..why care about them when they don't! Don't let it affect your self-esteem.
If you cannot do that then just think about the people who have bigger and serious problems ..real problems! There are people struggling to even survive on this planet let alone thinking about what others think of them,There are people who have been subjected to injustice by the people in power and sometimes by God himself,There are people who are going through really hard times...when you think about it that way,i bet what you feel would be the last thing to feel bad about! Just remember that there are people who still love and care about you,who are always by your side.So don't be hurt if someone is being mean to you, instead thank them for teaching you a lesson by letting you know the people who are actually there for you,who really care!

EXCURSION

Industrial tour - the best time i had in engnn life,an experience which i'm gonna remember for a real long time!
They say that the journey u make is more memorable than the destination, but the journey we made in order to actually have the journey was even more memorable!
We were supposed to start on 26th jan at 10.30 pm for Warangal, but even on the day of departure we weren't sure if we'd be actually going for the tour! That afternoon we were informed that the tour had been canceled due to lack of proper permission and we lost all hope. But after a turn of events,at 9pm we were informed that we were actually going to make it!It did take some time for the news to sink in,but we made it!After packing within a mere 2hrs,we left for warangal in bus(we missed the train for obvious reasons).Even after boarding the bus,it was hard to believe that we were actually going! This was no less than an achievement!
It was a 27hr long train journey to reach Agra, our first destination. We spent a whole day in train by basically doing nothing! All we did was eat, sleep;play cards, dumb charades, antaakshari and an epic game of ludo which went on for 2 long hours.Music, beautiful scenery outside and friends is all you need to let the time fly!
The next day,we reached Agra at around 2 am and trust me,it was freezing cold! The first place we visited that day was Taj Mahal.I never really found Taj fascinating until that day. After being there in person,i thought "No wonder its a wonder!".The beauty of taj mahal was phenomenal. It's construction, the foresight of the people who constructed it at that period, with the then available resources and technology left me awed.It was a masterpiece of civil engineering! The expertise and the detailed work done was marvelous. In the evening we visited Fathepur-sikhri and other places and left for Delhi, our next stop.

We visited Mathura on the way to Delhi. The divine atmosphere of Mathura raised our spirits and made our day.We reached Delhi and visited Akshardham temple whose beauty cannot be described in words!
One has to visit it to understand this! After visiting other places in Delhi,we left for Shimla.
We visited Khufri in Shimla which was an unforgettable experience. The place was covered with snow.Horse riding to the top of the hill was amazing and the return journey was scary(it was all dark with the only source of light being the crescent moon). It was very adventurous and exhilarating with nature's beauty at its best. The snow was shining in the moon light and the ride on horse made it even more breath-taking!
We had a great day and the whole thing was exhausting, but this didn't deter us from attending the DJ that night :P!
The next day,we set out for Kullu for river rafting in river Vyas. The river water was ice cold and every time u touched it,it would send a stinging pain down your skin.It was a thrilling experience. The water was super cold and could numb one's sense and here we were fully drenched ,struggling to feel our hands and legs! After an hour for rafting,we made it to the bank of the river and i had to look down at my feet to find one of my slippers missing!I didn't sense losing it :P as it was hard to feel any sensation! We had camp-fire after that and i had 'meri kullu wali maggi' there and it was unforgettable!
Our next stop was Manali. The place can be described by a single word and that is 'BEAUTIFUL'! Every sight was scenic, there was creamy, foamy snow everywhere you laid eyes on! The yak ride, traditional dressing, ride on snow-bike,tyre ride were the highlights there. It was freaking cold at snow point,it was hard to move around in those boots but that didn't deter us from having a full fledged snow fight! It was a lovely place!
Amritsar was the final destination. We visited Wagah border but missed the parade.Golden temple was very beautiful, the atmosphere there made one feel at peace. This visit was followed by a bus journey to Delhi the next day.The whole journey was filled with fun, frolic and laughter. From Delhi,we had a train journey to hyd, another 27 hr journey but we hardly realized the time fly. That was the end of it, a memorable trip because of all the drama, the effort for making it happen, the fun,the places and the people! And we will always cherish these memories! :)

I AM

I'm not perfect,nobody is
I'm just a girl,with a thousand little dreams!
Not exceptionally gorgeous,
Nor i am a gifted genius,
ORDINARY is the word,
Not hard to find in this world!
I'm a friend tough to make,
Friendship,you'd never wanna break!
Whatever i do,i put my heart and soul in it,
Not the person who gets satisfied by just doing 'it' !
Not so expressive,
Can never stand injustice!
Can't stand mean and filthy liars,
No matter how sweet their lies appears!
Not the one who enjoys hurting people,
Only to end up hurting myself!
Well that is the way i am,
Better accept it as soon as u can!

ON STAGE

I hate attention, any sort of attention - from people wishing me on my bday to speaking in front of an audience.I never knew speaking in front of people would be so difficult until i went through the experience.

It all started on Teachers' day celebrations in school.I was in 6th standard and had to give a speech in Hindi in front of our whole school strength(around 2500+ students).Obviously there was a selection round for selecting the right student to give the speech among class 6 students and i don't remember how i got selected.I prepared really hard for it - At home,my bed was the stage and my mom n siss were the audience and I did pretty well in front of them :P.I was really looking forward to the D-day but at the same time was little nervous. The day came,i dressed up in a cute blue frock and was ready to give a wonderful speech. They announced my name on the mike and i walked to the center of the stage-my legs shivering.I was supposed to recite the speech but the moment i saw the huge crowd waiting for me to speak and leave the stage asap,my mind went blank- i couldn't remember a thing. And u know how school children are-they hate listening to speeches..only dance performances are enjoyed..it was the same with me but now i was at the receiving end.I was all the more nervous because of the lovely, encouraging audience.Luckily i had the speech written on a paper and what i did was simple- read the whole thing from the paper and left the stage asap.Clearly, i had disappointed my teacher ( one of my favs :( ).But things could've been worse if i didn't have that paper that time.At least i gave the speech (rather read it) and it wasn't that bad.

I was determined to get over this stage fright.I took part in an elocution competition which was again in hindi with topic -'MAA'.It was a low key competition. My mother had written the matter, which i recited along with a poem which my mom had written for her mom.It was a beautiful poem and i think that was the reason i actually won the competition.Again,it wasn't easy to speak in front of ppl,but the whole time that i was speaking,i didn't look at even a single person. It wasn't the right thing to do but it was ok(i was 11 then). This competition surely boosted my confidence.

Since then,i have had many number of opportunities to speak on stage but even now going on stage freaks me out.Sometimes its hard to believe that i spoke so many times on stage as a member of NGC,played the main role in a drama(on the occasion of 125 yrs celebrations of our school) and that i was able to influence my fellow high-school mates through my speech and become the Vice Head Girl of school!

Even in Engnn college, there was this public speaking thing in 1-1 which surely freaked out many of my classmates including me.I mean, after 2 yrs of mental torture in intermediate clg,we had an opportunity to speak in public on a given topic..but things went well. Then there was this EMTL seminar in 2-2(my luck was really bad that day...got a golden opportunity of giving a seminar on PDC too).Seriously, speaking on a topic is one thing..but Teaching - that was really something! I gave it my best shot and i guess my classmates understood what i was doing there!

Even after having a good amount of experience in public-speaking,whenever i'm on-stage i get butterflies in my stomach...Hopefully things will always fall into the right place as they have till now..:)

Friendship

The most common relationship between people around the world - FRIENDSHIP.Few people take it as a synonym for 'just knowing a person' before considering the very meaning of the word. When someone asks u about a person u know..u just say "He/She is a friend of mine" without considering the fact that if u r really 'friends' or not.Not that there is anything wrong in that, but how many of us actually do justice to the so called 'friendship' ? I believe knowing someone doesn't make him/her ur friend.Friendship is more than just knowing someone. Its a competitive world, survival of the fittest. Most people believe in 'first me then others(includes so called friends)' theory.Ive seen people who have a group, who are together the whole time in clg/school but are not really friends. They are least bothered about what's happening with others-forget about helping each other out.Friendship is kind of a formality for them.... such a pity!

You don't have rules/regulations or do's and do not's in friendship. But then its something which connects two individuals. No one needs to tell u what to do for a person...if ur true friends u'll do it yourself!Friendship is when silence is comfortable between two individuals. Its a wonderful feeling that there's someone who cares for u,prays for ur well being, wants u to be happy and expects nothing in return. There is no room for selfishness and jealousy in friendship.Friends are those who can bring a smile on to ur face, who stand by ur side when others leave u,who trust their lives with you!

It's hard to find good friends and lucky are those who have true friends! Give and take is business-not friendship! Its a relationship based on honesty, truth and trust. Its always great to have good friends but very hard to find them.People who leave you when ur in trouble aren't really ur friends.Though encountering such people is a painful experience,it makes one strong and a better person. It brings a better sense of judging people.Recently i've had a very bad experience with 'so called friends' , but its been a learning experience and im a better person now.I believe calling such people ur friends is an injustice to the word 'friendship' and so next time if someone asks u if a particular someone is ur 'friend' just think before u answer...

People!

All of us hear ppl saying ' life is this...life is that...' We find different quotes ; books on- life, success in life etc. We go through different inspirational and motivational quotes on life during hard times. But it's surprising how most of our problems actually revolve around other people! When u go and ask a normal person if he has any problems,if he does,he wouldn't name 'Global warming' or 'Water shortage' as his problems but rather it would be break-up with his girl friend or misunderstandings among his friends or issues with his family! It really is funny and strange how humans react to the actions of other fellow humans! The main reason for this being - u find all sorts of people in the world! And as human life is interdependent, u r bound to meet different kinds of people in ur life. There are people u can easily connect with and there are people whom u can never ever understand! U find people who are joking all the time, few who never accept their mistake , few who change their behaviour with place , few who are always ready to argue with or without reason...and so on. Now, the problem arises when u have to deal with such people. We know 'No one is perfect' , all of us contain a blend of characteristics and at times - the time, situation and our mood determine our reaction to things and people. And some of the above characteristics may very well be within us. But then its all comparative! There are people who feel that the whole world is against them...so no matter what u say , u'll probably always land up in trouble. The best way to avoid such trouble is probably to avoid them! eg: Dracula ( don't worry if u don't understand how dracula is an example) There might be people who are ur friends and may very well be little difficult to understand....No matter what the reason is, the best way to get on with ur life is to 'FORGIVE AND FORGET' ..otherwise someone rightly said Speak when you are angry - and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret.” which will only worsen things. So,whenever ur angry at someone, just calm down coz Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” I bet its not easy...but again its all comparative and choosing the better way is only favourable!

Long time!

Whoa!....Its been a very long time since i posted my last post. It's funny and strange how interesting few things seem in the beginning. When you do a thing for the first time you are immensely excited and can't wait to do it again . But as the time passes, the interest gradually decreases! It happens with all of us !As the time passes , these things start getting irksome! Most of us hate to do our daily chores and things like for eg: our education system. But, come to think about it,what would've been the case if there wasn't any compulsion on doing it? The result is clear....all these days rather months (5 months to be precise) ; several thoughts, ideas have been racing through my mind. If only i would put it on paper ...but as there was no compulsion ...i didn't ! So the point?...No matter how much you despise it...It sure is better to have compulsion on few things of our life . In short, that is 'Discipline'...which sure is necessary in one's life!

Getting educated?

All of us are in the process of getting educated(the very fact that ur reading this proves it :P).So,what exactly does 'Education' mean? In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another. In short, education helps us to lead a better life. Those who aren't educated usually have their world filled with the darkness of blind beliefs and superstitions. That is,education liberates us and helps us to lead a better life. But,come to think of it "Are we really getting educated?" I feel the word 'Literates' would describe us better(Literacy is typically described as the ability to read and write).
Honestly, just give it a thought. Things were different at school,we were TAUGHT different subjects. From the very purpose of the topic to the varied daily-life applications it had. Atleast this is the case in many schools. In other schools, the children eventually develop a habit of mugging up as a result of poor teaching. This habit of mugging up continues forever. But then if the student is really inquisitive,he can manage it on his own. What ever it is,school life is comparatively the best phase of education.

Then comes the intermediate level where the very concept of getting educated seems useless. Many teens end up commiting suicide .Now,the thing which was supposed to make life better has become the reason for students to end their life! All thanks to the commercialisation of the sick education system. Its all about money, isn't it?

Next-in the UG level-the concept of teaching hardly exists. Its the survival of the smartest. The point is- education is something which has to be applied in our lives. It isn't about the number of degrees u have or the number of marks you've scored. Its about how much u have learned to make this world a better place and to lead a good life.

All of us know about the harms caused by plastic. If asked to write an essay about it,we can write pages n pages but then using a 'use and throw' colourful plastic pen! Thats the irony here!

All of us know the traffic rules. We have written them in exams whenever asked and scored full marks. But do we actually follow them on road?
Its all about the marks and degrees today...isnt it? The very concept behind education is lost! One of the many advantages of education is being able to earn a living, but that isn't the only purpose of it. But people hardly remember that these days.

So, the blame goes to...? No one!

It all depends up on the individual. If one does justice to his duty - the teacher teaching his subject properly and the student taking maximum advantage of it -is the only solution i can think of. Get educated , get a life!

FAITH

New college=new place=new people=new friends. You get to meet different kinds of people, make new friends and you get to know them. One of the most weird question of all time asked to me by my new friends was "Do you believe in god?".Well i actually didn't get the point of asking such a question. But i answered it as "Yes ,everyone does...though not all may have the courage to admit it".And when i posed the same question to them,i recieved different replies.Few positive ones and few negative ones, but the most shocking one was "sometimes i do and sometimes i don't!".Oh yea,god exists if your wishes come true and the moment anything goes wrong, you question his existence. Keeping your faith alive at all times is a tough job,its a fact. But losing your faith? it isn't a solution to your problems now..is it?

Here's a story i'd like to share - There was a guy who was an atheist and there was a girl who was a strong believer of god.Once, the girl showed a beautiful painting to the boy.The boy was awestruck by the beauty of the painting and asked if she knew who was the artist. The girl replied that the colours made their way on the canvas on their own and the beautiful painting was created on its own.The boy obviously found it hard to believe. Then, the girl points out that "when you can't believe that the painting was created on its own....how can u believe that this beautiful world was created on its own!"

Well,i'm not preaching anything here! It's just that it feels great to be looked after by someone. When we are young,we seek our parents for this solace. But,once you grow up and start leading your life on your own...faith in god definitely helps!..think about it...

REWIND 2009

The year's gonna end in another 5 days.As always,I was thinking (:P) about the various events that happened this year in my life. Here's a quick recap!

2009- It was supposed to be one of the most important years of my life with many entrance exams lined up one after the other.I'd been preparing for this since a very long time!Come to think of it,things were totally different last year.I didnt bother to be awake till 12am in night on the new year eve last year, since i had college the next day.I had to be reminded the next day that it was new year since i kept forgetting it!But the day wasn't that bad, thanks to our Chemistry sir.We played antakshri with our juniors for around 30 mins in chem period. It was the only special thing we'd done in the welcome of the new year(the only saving grace).

The following months were very boring because of the numerous mock tests and strenous preparations. Finally, the time of exams came! IIT,AIEEE,EAMCET,BITSAT screwed up all .Thought things would get easy after doing away with the exams but the toughest part was yet to come.Waiting for the results was the most irritating part.Didnt get any good branch(ece or eee to be precise) in IIT(i didnt prepare much for it,it wasnt my aim, solved the whole iit ppr for the first time in my life in d exam hall!),AIEEE,BITS.So,the only option left was EAMCET and i had to wait for 3 long months to finally know which clg i'd be getting into!!

Holidays were fun: read around 15 novels, had lot of fun hanging around with my school friends, watched many movies(too many...watched all d movies that were released in those 2 yrs),attended violin classes, tried playing guitar on my own, started paying Badminton, followed the matches of French open and Wimbledon etc. Many of my friends got into IIT,IIIT,NIT and BITS.Their classes started and at the time our Eamcet counselling hadn't even started.Things went on at snail's pace. But I finally got ECE in JNTU hyd. "ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL"- i agree!

I didn't have any expectations from the college before joining it,so found the place pretty cool later. Many of my inter friends are there in the same college and few in the same class. Its fun being in the college(Proof: We have hols till 31st and im dying to go to clg) and i've begun to feel that all that hardwork didnt go waste after all!Four more years to go....I'm sure these yrs are gonna be great!...really looking forward to it!

Global Warming

NOTE:The facts, reports quoted in this post have been taken from the Internet(what else can u expect!).

Yes!..my latest post is on "Global Warming" which is apparently the most famous topic now-a-days.
So,What is Global Warming?(sorry..definition is a formality!).Most of us have learned about it(at least the things related to it) in our high school(Don't tell me you didn't...my mom read that in school!!...."green house effect"...remember?).
Technically,Global warming is the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20Th century and its projected continuation(thanks to wikipedia!).In other words, our mother Earth is getting heated up because of human activities like deforestation, air pollution etc.
So,is this a recent effect or something?
Nah!Global Warming is a result of the 150yr old industrial age.The only reason it's the rage of the day is because it has become a serious issue now.Scientists knew long before that this would be a very serious problem as time passes.
The Consequences of Global Warming:
As the concentration of greenhouse(carbon dioxide, methane etc) gases grows, more heat is trapped in the atmosphere and less escapes back into space. This increase in trapped heat changes the climate and alters weather patterns, which may hasten species extinction, influence the length of seasons, cause coastal flooding, and lead to more frequent and severe storms.

Global Warming effect has serious consequences for all living organisms, but it is of especially great concern for the polar bear. According to the U.S. Geological Survey Office, reduction in sea ice in the Arctic can see a loss of 2/3Rd's of the entire word’s Polar Bear population over the next 50 years.According to the latest reports,Polar bears are resorting to Cannibalism (animal that feeds on others of its own kind) due to the shortage of food which is a result of the shrinking arctic ice.Pretty shocking huh?
So,What is the future for Arctic sea ice? Some scientists believe that in just five years, the Arctic may be ice-free during the summer!!
How to stop Global Warming?
Many efforts are being made to tackle Global Warming across the world. But lets see how can we contribute to this effort. Here are few things we(any Indian teenager..) can do:

1.Choose energy efficient appliances when making new purchases.
(Look for the Energy Star label on new appliances to choose the most energy efficient products available.)
2.Do not leave appliances on standby.
(Use the "on/off" function on the machine itself. A TV set that's switched on for 3 hours a day (the average time Europeans spend watching TV) and in standby mode during the remaining 21 hours uses about 40% of its energy in standby mode.)
3.Wrap your water heater in an insulation blanket.
(You’ll save 1,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year with this simple action. You can save another 550 pounds per year by setting the thermostat no higher than 50°C.)
4.Defrost old fridges and freezers regularly.
(Even better is to replace them with newer models, which all have automatic defrost cycles and are generally up to two times more energy-efficient than their predecessors.)
5.Cover your pots while cooking.
(Doing so can save a lot of the energy needed for preparing the dish. Even better are pressure cookers and steamers: they can save around 70%!)
6.Use the washing machine or dishwasher only when they are full.
(If you need to use it when it is half full, then use the half-load or economy setting. There is also no need to set the temperatures high. Nowadays detergents are so efficient that they get your clothes and dishes clean at low temperatures.)
7.Choose products that come with little packaging and buy refills when you can.
(You will also cut down on waste production and energy use... another help against global warming.)
8.Reuse your shopping bag.
(When shopping, it saves energy and waste to use a reusable bag instead of accepting a disposable one in each shop. Waste not only discharges CO2 and methane into the atmosphere, it can also pollute the air, groundwater and soil.)
9.Drive carefully and do not waste fuel.
(You can reduce CO2 emissions by readjusting your driving style. Choose proper gears, do not abuse the gas pedal, use the engine brake instead of the pedal brake when possible and turn off your engine when your vehicle is motionless for more than one minute. By readjusting your driving style you can save money on both fuel and car maintenance.)
10.Ask your friends to read this!

If u wanna contribute more check out this site:http://globalwarming-facts.info

I'm not asking you people to follow everything given above, but just give it a try!...At least I AM!

VIRTUAL REALITY !!??

Indian reality shows are the latest buzzword for the television industry in India. It was a relief in the beginning-finally i was hoping to watch something different than the typical saas-bahu serials on television. Most of them were directly picked up ideas like Big boss(big brother),Indian idol(American idol) and were very successful. These were followed by numerous other reality shows, many of them based on the same format of shows of the West. But then, they say "nakal ke liye bhi akal jarrori hain".Our people didn't realize that and they started "sach ka samna"(the moment of truth). It was just a "copy and paste"(pretty easy huh?) of the US show(same format)...don't they get it? India isn't ready for such shows! But then getting into controversy is like free publicity. This show too got into a lot of controversies and the ministry found the so-called reality show -vulgar,indecent and against good taste and decency. There's some meaning in conducting talent hunts but stuff like this?..Its nothing but a way of attracting people's attention coz of the bad stuff.People may actually watch it once to figure out the reason of the controversy and may very well end up watching it regularly.Ultimately, controversy may result in increased TRPs.

The same thing goes with another reality show called "Pati patni aur woh".To be honest,i've seen many episodes of this show and didn't quite get the aim of the show.Seriously, what was the point in conducting this whole show? All it had was,few celebrity couples trying to look after someone else's children for a couple of days. So,what's the point? Its not like u can learn to raise kids in a month or so.That too, looking after someone else's children is a total different thing. So, after following the whole show,i found that this show was full of controversies thanks to our very own so called celebrities! Not to forget the very hyped show "Rakhi ka swayamvar".I managed to watch half of an episode(trust me,a very difficult task) and found it really funny.LOL.I was wondering how can anyone find a suitable match by conducting a reality show! But then this is Rakhi Sawant we're talking about and turns out to be that she may or may not marry Ilesh(the winner of the show). So,all this fuss to find a new boyfriend huh?The promo of "Rahul ka swayamwar" was also out,but guess no girl actually applied(:-p).So,the ads of the show are no longer being aired.

The other day, i just happened to watch the promo of ndtv imagine's latest reality show called "raaz pichle janam ka".The moment the promo finished,i started laughing.I just couldn't help it.Gosh! seriously, are we out of any practical reality show ideas?(Arrey bhai,is janam ke raaz khafi nahi hain kya?).I don't think the idea has been picked up from the west like indian idol, big brother, the moment of truth n all....but still pichle janam ka raaz???!!Its good that we are starting to apply our brains and thinking of new ideas. But i find this one weird not creative! So,lets just see how the show turns out to be.

At the end of the day,the very meaning of REALITY SHOW has changed.Now-a-days u can find varieties of them, most of them are pointless. So,enjoy watching them!!

"Narayana Junior College"-the hell down under

Intermediate course-i can NEVER ever forget this phase of my life.

It all began after the ssc results were declared.I was pretty happy with my result and glad that i got into this college with 75% scholarship(i must say,fee concession is really a smart way of attracting students and parents).I had no idea that it wasn't just a college(i realized later that it was more of a Narayana Central Jail). The other side of the college was yet to come.
In the beginning,as any other normal student of my ,i put my heart and soul in studies.I worked really hard and tried to score maximum marks. My interest, determination and everything were at its peak. But then all this lasted only for a couple of months. In the beginning the college timings were from 8am to 5.30pm.After few weeks, they made it till 6pm and finally, after the formation of the FTB(so called "fast track batch"...eventually it turned out to be the"faltu track batch") it was 7am to 7pm.Seriously,i didn't know what was the point in studying for 12 hours daily when the exams were 18 months away! But this was just the beginning, the trailer.

After the formation of FTB,life became miserable. There were no holidays, not even sundays,no bandhs nothing!Even if anyone took leave because of ill health or something, they were not spared. The non-teaching staff would call them and if possible would go their home and pick them up! Whenever the phone rang, when i was on leave,i would skip a heart beat or two.We used to write a test daily, rather one in every class!Marks were evaluated and those who scored less were given a lecture on how irresponsible they were and how much the sirs were working hard for them.Life was horrible.Being good at studies became a punishment. Before coming to this place,i never knew such people even existed in the world.Gosh! And they call themselves teachers! The very meaning of education is forgotten here, its all about marks and tests. These people are only interested in making money, using bright students as their pawns. This went on for two long years!Shuffling of students was constantly done depending on their performance in weekly tests. Those who did well were subjected to special treatment rather creative torture.Corporate colleges are nothing but a new kind of business venture with the only aim of making money. They are least bit bothered about the effect it has on the kids.No wonder so many innocent kids end their lives every year, unable to bear this torture. You may find it exaggerating but you'll not understand unless you've been through all this. Many of the students get over this but few are hugely affected. Many of them lose interest in studies(even their fav subjects).

So,what's the result of all this?...Do you get into the IITs or NITs or IIITs?? Well,at the end of the course,if you see the result,it totally depends on how well you do on the d-day.It doesn't matter how much you've studied or for how long you've studied. It doesn't matter if you've spent sleepless nights, studying for the exam.It doesn't depend on your intelligence either. You may do fairly better than others with a bit of confidence, common sense and knowledge of basics. Then what's the difference? Even after working so hard, why do many students fail to achieve their goal? The answer is simple....Firstly,you never know how's the paper's gonna be.It all depends on how better you do it than others......Secondly,You need to have confidence that you can do it,this is the point where many students of corporate colleges fail. The lectures shatter their confidence so well(by insulting them when they don't perform well)that its hard to get over it.The thing remains some
where hidden inside them......So,it hugely affects their performance in the exam.
Then what's the point in studying in these colleges?..Apparently nothing!
Though many of them end up in good colleges(but mostly not in their first priority)...one question still remains unanswered:Is the torture worth it? I say its not! Go and see the students of other states...aren't they getting into the IITs or the NITs...Do they go through this mental torture?..the answer is NO!Its not that they don't work hard or something but they aren't extremists like us.They have balance between studies and extra-curricular activities. The students there, have peace of mind. They have confidence that they can make it.They don't write weekly tests but have a good knowledge of basics. They are taught analytical and lateral thinking. They have common sense and what not!..I believe everyone has the same ability, but not everyone is lucky to have good mentors to mould them correctly.

SO...whose responsible for the suffering of the kids?..whose responsible for the deaths of these innocent kids?....What should be done to avoid such cases?...According to me,the only way to stop this is government action against these colleges.Laws should be made regarding the working hours and the treatment meted out to the students(esp in hostels, where the situation is beyond imagination...they have study hours as late as 11pm and as early as 5am).Parents play a key role in providing moral support to the children. They have to understand the ability of their child and not burden him with high expectations....Unless this is done...there will be no decrease in the number of such incidents...

Start of something new!

Finally i'm here starting my very own blog.I've been thinking of doing this since ages but then didn't know where to start from.We all know it's always difficult to begin, but once you've done that, things start falling in the right place gradually.I don't know if i am a good writer, but then this is a perfect way to find that out. Please do comment and let me know if i fall short in any aspect.I'm still working on my first real post and will be posting that soon. So,i'm here determined to try something new,to take an initiative. Its the start of something new!
