EXCURSION

Industrial tour - the best time i had in engnn life,an experience which i'm gonna remember for a real long time!
They say that the journey u make is more memorable than the destination, but the journey we made in order to actually have the journey was even more memorable!
We were supposed to start on 26th jan at 10.30 pm for Warangal, but even on the day of departure we weren't sure if we'd be actually going for the tour! That afternoon we were informed that the tour had been canceled due to lack of proper permission and we lost all hope. But after a turn of events,at 9pm we were informed that we were actually going to make it!It did take some time for the news to sink in,but we made it!After packing within a mere 2hrs,we left for warangal in bus(we missed the train for obvious reasons).Even after boarding the bus,it was hard to believe that we were actually going! This was no less than an achievement!
It was a 27hr long train journey to reach Agra, our first destination. We spent a whole day in train by basically doing nothing! All we did was eat, sleep;play cards, dumb charades, antaakshari and an epic game of ludo which went on for 2 long hours.Music, beautiful scenery outside and friends is all you need to let the time fly!
The next day,we reached Agra at around 2 am and trust me,it was freezing cold! The first place we visited that day was Taj Mahal.I never really found Taj fascinating until that day. After being there in person,i thought "No wonder its a wonder!".The beauty of taj mahal was phenomenal. It's construction, the foresight of the people who constructed it at that period, with the then available resources and technology left me awed.It was a masterpiece of civil engineering! The expertise and the detailed work done was marvelous. In the evening we visited Fathepur-sikhri and other places and left for Delhi, our next stop.

We visited Mathura on the way to Delhi. The divine atmosphere of Mathura raised our spirits and made our day.We reached Delhi and visited Akshardham temple whose beauty cannot be described in words!
One has to visit it to understand this! After visiting other places in Delhi,we left for Shimla.
We visited Khufri in Shimla which was an unforgettable experience. The place was covered with snow.Horse riding to the top of the hill was amazing and the return journey was scary(it was all dark with the only source of light being the crescent moon). It was very adventurous and exhilarating with nature's beauty at its best. The snow was shining in the moon light and the ride on horse made it even more breath-taking!
We had a great day and the whole thing was exhausting, but this didn't deter us from attending the DJ that night :P!
The next day,we set out for Kullu for river rafting in river Vyas. The river water was ice cold and every time u touched it,it would send a stinging pain down your skin.It was a thrilling experience. The water was super cold and could numb one's sense and here we were fully drenched ,struggling to feel our hands and legs! After an hour for rafting,we made it to the bank of the river and i had to look down at my feet to find one of my slippers missing!I didn't sense losing it :P as it was hard to feel any sensation! We had camp-fire after that and i had 'meri kullu wali maggi' there and it was unforgettable!
Our next stop was Manali. The place can be described by a single word and that is 'BEAUTIFUL'! Every sight was scenic, there was creamy, foamy snow everywhere you laid eyes on! The yak ride, traditional dressing, ride on snow-bike,tyre ride were the highlights there. It was freaking cold at snow point,it was hard to move around in those boots but that didn't deter us from having a full fledged snow fight! It was a lovely place!
Amritsar was the final destination. We visited Wagah border but missed the parade.Golden temple was very beautiful, the atmosphere there made one feel at peace. This visit was followed by a bus journey to Delhi the next day.The whole journey was filled with fun, frolic and laughter. From Delhi,we had a train journey to hyd, another 27 hr journey but we hardly realized the time fly. That was the end of it, a memorable trip because of all the drama, the effort for making it happen, the fun,the places and the people! And we will always cherish these memories! :)

I AM

I'm not perfect,nobody is
I'm just a girl,with a thousand little dreams!
Not exceptionally gorgeous,
Nor i am a gifted genius,
ORDINARY is the word,
Not hard to find in this world!
I'm a friend tough to make,
Friendship,you'd never wanna break!
Whatever i do,i put my heart and soul in it,
Not the person who gets satisfied by just doing 'it' !
Not so expressive,
Can never stand injustice!
Can't stand mean and filthy liars,
No matter how sweet their lies appears!
Not the one who enjoys hurting people,
Only to end up hurting myself!
Well that is the way i am,
Better accept it as soon as u can!

ON STAGE

I hate attention, any sort of attention - from people wishing me on my bday to speaking in front of an audience.I never knew speaking in front of people would be so difficult until i went through the experience.

It all started on Teachers' day celebrations in school.I was in 6th standard and had to give a speech in Hindi in front of our whole school strength(around 2500+ students).Obviously there was a selection round for selecting the right student to give the speech among class 6 students and i don't remember how i got selected.I prepared really hard for it - At home,my bed was the stage and my mom n siss were the audience and I did pretty well in front of them :P.I was really looking forward to the D-day but at the same time was little nervous. The day came,i dressed up in a cute blue frock and was ready to give a wonderful speech. They announced my name on the mike and i walked to the center of the stage-my legs shivering.I was supposed to recite the speech but the moment i saw the huge crowd waiting for me to speak and leave the stage asap,my mind went blank- i couldn't remember a thing. And u know how school children are-they hate listening to speeches..only dance performances are enjoyed..it was the same with me but now i was at the receiving end.I was all the more nervous because of the lovely, encouraging audience.Luckily i had the speech written on a paper and what i did was simple- read the whole thing from the paper and left the stage asap.Clearly, i had disappointed my teacher ( one of my favs :( ).But things could've been worse if i didn't have that paper that time.At least i gave the speech (rather read it) and it wasn't that bad.

I was determined to get over this stage fright.I took part in an elocution competition which was again in hindi with topic -'MAA'.It was a low key competition. My mother had written the matter, which i recited along with a poem which my mom had written for her mom.It was a beautiful poem and i think that was the reason i actually won the competition.Again,it wasn't easy to speak in front of ppl,but the whole time that i was speaking,i didn't look at even a single person. It wasn't the right thing to do but it was ok(i was 11 then). This competition surely boosted my confidence.

Since then,i have had many number of opportunities to speak on stage but even now going on stage freaks me out.Sometimes its hard to believe that i spoke so many times on stage as a member of NGC,played the main role in a drama(on the occasion of 125 yrs celebrations of our school) and that i was able to influence my fellow high-school mates through my speech and become the Vice Head Girl of school!

Even in Engnn college, there was this public speaking thing in 1-1 which surely freaked out many of my classmates including me.I mean, after 2 yrs of mental torture in intermediate clg,we had an opportunity to speak in public on a given topic..but things went well. Then there was this EMTL seminar in 2-2(my luck was really bad that day...got a golden opportunity of giving a seminar on PDC too).Seriously, speaking on a topic is one thing..but Teaching - that was really something! I gave it my best shot and i guess my classmates understood what i was doing there!

Even after having a good amount of experience in public-speaking,whenever i'm on-stage i get butterflies in my stomach...Hopefully things will always fall into the right place as they have till now..:)

Friendship

The most common relationship between people around the world - FRIENDSHIP.Few people take it as a synonym for 'just knowing a person' before considering the very meaning of the word. When someone asks u about a person u know..u just say "He/She is a friend of mine" without considering the fact that if u r really 'friends' or not.Not that there is anything wrong in that, but how many of us actually do justice to the so called 'friendship' ? I believe knowing someone doesn't make him/her ur friend.Friendship is more than just knowing someone. Its a competitive world, survival of the fittest. Most people believe in 'first me then others(includes so called friends)' theory.Ive seen people who have a group, who are together the whole time in clg/school but are not really friends. They are least bothered about what's happening with others-forget about helping each other out.Friendship is kind of a formality for them.... such a pity!

You don't have rules/regulations or do's and do not's in friendship. But then its something which connects two individuals. No one needs to tell u what to do for a person...if ur true friends u'll do it yourself!Friendship is when silence is comfortable between two individuals. Its a wonderful feeling that there's someone who cares for u,prays for ur well being, wants u to be happy and expects nothing in return. There is no room for selfishness and jealousy in friendship.Friends are those who can bring a smile on to ur face, who stand by ur side when others leave u,who trust their lives with you!

It's hard to find good friends and lucky are those who have true friends! Give and take is business-not friendship! Its a relationship based on honesty, truth and trust. Its always great to have good friends but very hard to find them.People who leave you when ur in trouble aren't really ur friends.Though encountering such people is a painful experience,it makes one strong and a better person. It brings a better sense of judging people.Recently i've had a very bad experience with 'so called friends' , but its been a learning experience and im a better person now.I believe calling such people ur friends is an injustice to the word 'friendship' and so next time if someone asks u if a particular someone is ur 'friend' just think before u answer...

People!

All of us hear ppl saying ' life is this...life is that...' We find different quotes ; books on- life, success in life etc. We go through different inspirational and motivational quotes on life during hard times. But it's surprising how most of our problems actually revolve around other people! When u go and ask a normal person if he has any problems,if he does,he wouldn't name 'Global warming' or 'Water shortage' as his problems but rather it would be break-up with his girl friend or misunderstandings among his friends or issues with his family! It really is funny and strange how humans react to the actions of other fellow humans! The main reason for this being - u find all sorts of people in the world! And as human life is interdependent, u r bound to meet different kinds of people in ur life. There are people u can easily connect with and there are people whom u can never ever understand! U find people who are joking all the time, few who never accept their mistake , few who change their behaviour with place , few who are always ready to argue with or without reason...and so on. Now, the problem arises when u have to deal with such people. We know 'No one is perfect' , all of us contain a blend of characteristics and at times - the time, situation and our mood determine our reaction to things and people. And some of the above characteristics may very well be within us. But then its all comparative! There are people who feel that the whole world is against them...so no matter what u say , u'll probably always land up in trouble. The best way to avoid such trouble is probably to avoid them! eg: Dracula ( don't worry if u don't understand how dracula is an example) There might be people who are ur friends and may very well be little difficult to understand....No matter what the reason is, the best way to get on with ur life is to 'FORGIVE AND FORGET' ..otherwise someone rightly said Speak when you are angry - and you'll make the best speech you'll ever regret.” which will only worsen things. So,whenever ur angry at someone, just calm down coz Holding on to anger is like grasping a hot coal with the intent of throwing it at someone else; you are the one who gets burned.” I bet its not easy...but again its all comparative and choosing the better way is only favourable!

Long time!

Whoa!....Its been a very long time since i posted my last post. It's funny and strange how interesting few things seem in the beginning. When you do a thing for the first time you are immensely excited and can't wait to do it again . But as the time passes, the interest gradually decreases! It happens with all of us !As the time passes , these things start getting irksome! Most of us hate to do our daily chores and things like for eg: our education system. But, come to think about it,what would've been the case if there wasn't any compulsion on doing it? The result is clear....all these days rather months (5 months to be precise) ; several thoughts, ideas have been racing through my mind. If only i would put it on paper ...but as there was no compulsion ...i didn't ! So the point?...No matter how much you despise it...It sure is better to have compulsion on few things of our life . In short, that is 'Discipline'...which sure is necessary in one's life!

Getting educated?

All of us are in the process of getting educated(the very fact that ur reading this proves it :P).So,what exactly does 'Education' mean? In its technical sense, education is the process by which society deliberately transmits its accumulated knowledge, skills and values from one generation to another. In short, education helps us to lead a better life. Those who aren't educated usually have their world filled with the darkness of blind beliefs and superstitions. That is,education liberates us and helps us to lead a better life. But,come to think of it "Are we really getting educated?" I feel the word 'Literates' would describe us better(Literacy is typically described as the ability to read and write).
Honestly, just give it a thought. Things were different at school,we were TAUGHT different subjects. From the very purpose of the topic to the varied daily-life applications it had. Atleast this is the case in many schools. In other schools, the children eventually develop a habit of mugging up as a result of poor teaching. This habit of mugging up continues forever. But then if the student is really inquisitive,he can manage it on his own. What ever it is,school life is comparatively the best phase of education.

Then comes the intermediate level where the very concept of getting educated seems useless. Many teens end up commiting suicide .Now,the thing which was supposed to make life better has become the reason for students to end their life! All thanks to the commercialisation of the sick education system. Its all about money, isn't it?

Next-in the UG level-the concept of teaching hardly exists. Its the survival of the smartest. The point is- education is something which has to be applied in our lives. It isn't about the number of degrees u have or the number of marks you've scored. Its about how much u have learned to make this world a better place and to lead a good life.

All of us know about the harms caused by plastic. If asked to write an essay about it,we can write pages n pages but then using a 'use and throw' colourful plastic pen! Thats the irony here!

All of us know the traffic rules. We have written them in exams whenever asked and scored full marks. But do we actually follow them on road?
Its all about the marks and degrees today...isnt it? The very concept behind education is lost! One of the many advantages of education is being able to earn a living, but that isn't the only purpose of it. But people hardly remember that these days.

So, the blame goes to...? No one!

It all depends up on the individual. If one does justice to his duty - the teacher teaching his subject properly and the student taking maximum advantage of it -is the only solution i can think of. Get educated , get a life!
